Science: Different Climates In Zones!

For homework we had to explain why there are different climates in the Tropic, Temperate, and the Arctic Zones. I thought:

The reason why the climates are different are because the Arctic is farther from the equator so there is less evaporation and more precipitation. Also because maybe the sun isn't shining on all of it (Indirect Sunlight) In the Temperate, the climate is hot, but cold so there is an even amount of precipitation and evaporation. The Tropic is so close to the equator which makes it warm, and since it is in the center of earth, the sun is directly hitting it (Direct Sunlight)
